Robin Wade - Ceramics
Abstract ceramics forms and tiles ranging in scale from porcelain brooches and tile panels to large garden stoneware sculptures, built from multiple forms mounted on metal armatures. Inspired by landscape and nature, I explore the diversity of the clay surface clay and its potential unrestrained by conventional methods of working.
Using the impressionable nature of clay to impress natural objects, fabrics etc in order to develop complex textured surface which are then pigmented with a rich palette of coloured slips and glazes. Individual pieces are frequently created when travelling, using found objects from the location - of the moment and place.
